PURPOSE:To prevent abnormal increase in engine rotational speed due to the situation where gears are out of mesh during constant-speed running, by releasing operation of constant-speed running when it is detected that a shift lever is in a neutral position. CONSTITUTION:A transmission is provided with a neutral switch for detecting that a shift lever is in a neutral position. The neutral switch 20 is connected in series with a coil 21a of a relay 21, and a normally closed contact point 21b of the relay 21 is connected between a brake switch 3 and a release signal generator circuit 12. In event that gears come out of mesh during constant-speed running, the switch 20 goes ON, and the contact point 21b goes OFF to cut off current leading to the circuit 12. As a result, a release signal is generated by the circuit 12, and a set vehicular speed stored in a constant-speed running command circuit 10 is cleared to release a constant-speed running condition. |
