A cardiac catheter package comprises a catheter (11), Fig. 2 (not shown) having a stiff tubular body 12 with a curved portion 15, and a hub (13) at one end, a stiff container 16, enclosing the catheter and comprising a tubular housing 17 with a curved portion 19, and a cap 18. The cap may have an undercut (21) adjoining the rim (22) of the housing, the hub (13) resting against this rim, and the cap may have a tab 23 at its upper end pierced by an aperture 24 by which the package may be suspended. A tape 25 may seal the cap to the housing. The catheter may be of a plastics material, and the container of a transparent plastics material which remains permanently deformed after being accidently bent, sufficiently to damage the enclosed catheter, to provide a permanent indication of the bending.</p> |
