<p>PURPOSE:To perform cooling more effectively besides improve color purity by using a water solution, in which a dyestuff absorbing luminescence except a main wave length region, wherein a phosphor luminesces, is dissolved, as a liquid coolant. CONSTITUTION:A phototransmissive panel 2 made of, for instance, glass is liquidtightly sealed in front of a front panel 1a of a cathode-ray body 1 while enclosing a liquid coolant 9 into the sealed space 8 between both of them. The liquid coolant 9 is composed, for instance, of 33-95wt%, desirably 40-90wt% of an ethylene glycol water solution, in which a dyestuff absorbing luminescence except a main wave length region of the respective colors of light regarding the cathode-ray tubes of various colors, namely, the luminescence of the unrequired wave length region is dissolved, and said coolant 9 is given a color filtering effect. Thereby, evasion of local temperature rise and thermal radiation are effectively performed thus heightening color purity of an optical image.</p> |
