PURPOSE:To obtain a display device for gas discharge, which displays also prevents brighter images and the flicker, with a relatively low discharge starting voltage by fitting a cathode electrode in the slots for transferring gas. CONSTITUTION:A discharge cell 10 filled with a gas for maintaining a glow discharge generates the glow discharge when a suitable voltage is applied to a cathode electrode 13 and an anode electrode 15 arranged in the form of orthogonal intersection at the upper and lower sides of the discharge cell. A scanning discharge cell is positioned on the extension line of each slot 17 for transferring gas and is feasible to generate the glow discharge by supplying the excited gas molecules to the discharge cell for display. Since the space 18 of each slot 17 for transferring gas is formed directly under the cathode electrode 13, the excited gas molecules generated by the glow discharge can be transferred to the adjacent discharge cell 10 for display with the minimum distance for transferring. |
