DOUBLE-SIDE COPYING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To obtain a double-side copying machine having good operating efficiency by constituting said machine in such a way that a copying operation can be executed continuously even if paper is fed in overlap in an intermediate tray in the stage of double-side copying. CONSTITUTION:If transfer paper is fed in overlap in the stage of copying on the ''front'' side and more than the set number of sheets are stored in an intermediate tray 50, a signal ''presence of transfer paper in intermediate tray'' is detected in the stage of copying on the ''rear''side and the copying operation on the ''rear'' side is continued until there is no more transfer paper in the tray 59. A display device for the number of copying sheets counts down from the first set number of sheets and stops counting when the count zero is attained. If the overlap feed arises during refeeding from the tray 59 and the transfer paper in the tray 59 runs out before the completion of the set numbe of copying on the ''rear'' side, the copying operation is ended without wasteful scanning of an optical system.
