PURPOSE:To obtain magnetooptical recording material which assures recording sensitivity higher than that of Tb-Co system and high corrosion resistance by forming an alloy with Tb, Ni, and Co. CONSTITUTION:A chip of Tb, Ni and Co is formed by the sputtering method on the surface of a sufficiently smooth and transparent glass substrate 1 as a recording layer 2 consisting of the amorphous alloy film having the composition Tbx(NiyCo100-y)100-x (where, x; 20-35atom%, y; 10-40atom%). According to this recording layer 2, repeatability of writing and rerasing by laser beam can be increased, high density recording can be realized and sensitivity and stability of recording can be improved. |
