PURPOSE:To prevent surely dies from being broken on account of overloading by making plural sub-slides respectively discretely and verticaly drivable and enabling the discrete detection of the overloaded sub-slides. CONSTITUTION:Plural sub-slides 15 are provided to a slide 14 and upper dies are attached to the respective sub-slides. A worm gear 21, a worm wheel 22 and a key 23 are driven by an electric motor to move upward and downward the sub-slides 15, by which the height of each upper die is adjusted. The slide 14 is then lowered to lower all the upper dies so that the work on lower dies is sandwiched. The curved surfaces at the bottom end of lifting bodies 20 press respectively the sub-slides 15 via the curved surfaces of projecting bodies 25 thereby self-aligning the sub-slides. If foreign matter is gnawed between the upper and lower dies in this stage, the sub-slide 15 of such dies is overloaded and the pressure in an oil chamber 28 exceeds the prescribed value, by which an oil pressure detector is actuated to stop emergently the slide 14. |
