PURPOSE:To sencure an accelerating feeling congruous to a speed gear position, by dividing a suction pipe into at least two suction passages, while installing a control valve being controlled in accordance with the gear position of a transmission. CONSTITUTION:In case of a six cylinder engine, a suction pipe 12 is divided into two parts, namely, a first suction passage 14 interconnecting #1-#3 cylinders and a second suction passage 16 interconnecting the remaining #4-#6, while both these passages 14 and 16 are joined at a converging pipe 18 setting up a throttle valve 20. In addition, both passages 14 and 16 are interconnected with each other at an interconnecting passage 25 setting up a second control valve 26 through an interconnecting passage 22 setting up a first control valve 24, between suction passages 141-143 and 161-163 leading to each cylinder from each of these passages 14 and 16. When a gear position to be detected by a gear position sensor 37 is in a first or second speed range, both control valves 24 and 26 are opened and when shift steps other than that is the case, on side of the control valve 24 or 26 is closed or both valves 24 and 26 are closed otherwise. |
