PURPOSE:To obtain an invariably excellent image by providing a small-sized, simple cleaning means which incorporates a heater and is provided with a cleaning roll having a sponge layer for scraping residual toner at the outer circumference of the heater. CONSTITUTION:When a magnetic recording medium 4 is passed under a permanent magnet 2, the magnetic recording medium 4 is magnetized in one direction to erase a magnetic latent image, and magnetic toner stuck with a leak magnetic field becomes hard to separate. Then, the magnetic recording medium 4 is brought into contact with the sponge 15B of the 2nd cleaning device 14. The sponge 15B contains about 3wt% magnetic toner preferably in advance so as to improve the stickiness and affinity to the residual toner, and made of heat-resisting rubber molded after vulcanization. The sponge 15B is heated by a quartz lamp 15C, so the magnetic toner in the sponge 15B is softened by the heat conduction from the quartz lamp 15C to move the toner to the surface of the sponge 15 completely through the stickiness and affinity. |
