PURPOSE:To provide the titled transfer material capable of being used multiple times, easy to handle and economical, by a method wherein a thermal transfer layer comprising a heat-fusible ink in a heat-resistant resin layer having a microporous network structure is provided on a base. CONSTITUTION:The thermal transfer layer 2 having the microporous network structure is provided on the heat-resistant film 3 (e.g., a polyester film). The thermal transfer layer is produced by infiltrating the ink into a material which is incompatible with the heat-fusible ink (e.g., an ink comprising a carnauba wax as a vehicle and comprising a coloring agent), is such that the porous structure is not broken by instantaneous heating and pressurizing by a thermal head 5, and is similar to the material constituting the heat-resistant film 3. Accordingly, since an appropriate amount of the ink is caused to ooze out by a thermal head 5 at the time of printing, the transfer material can be used multiple times, is extremely economical, is easy to handle, and can be suitably used for various thermal printers, thermal facsimiles or the like. |
