PURPOSE:To obtain a belt retaining a high strength and a proper elongation while being excellent in the corrosion resistance and wear resistance by covering a fabric made of twisted yarns comprising a polyester fiber having a specific characteristic with a rubber or flexible resin. CONSTITUTION:A fabric made of a twisted yarns comprising polyester fibers having characteristics (a)-(h) as mentioned below is covered with a rubber or flexible resin on one or both sides thereof: (a) polyester in which more than 85mol% of the repeated unit is ethyleneterephtharte, (b) intrinsic viscosity >=0.5, (c) [r/R=double refrative index of fiber at the position of 0.9]-[r/R=double refractive index of fiber at the position of 0.0]<0, (d) double refractive index >=180X10<-3>, (e) fiber long cycle at small angular X ray diffraction >=160A, (f) specific gravity >=1.390, (g) dry heat shrinkage <=15% and (h) single system denier <=35. |
