CHARACTER PATTERN ENLARGING SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To obtain a magnified pattern efficiently with good character quality by using a logical mask so as to interpolate a dot near a black dot during the duplicated inserting processing of a row and a column being the processing of magnified processing. CONSTITUTION:The character pattern (a) like a 4X4 - dot is converted for enlargement longitudinally by using a matrix selecting method so as to obtain a character pattern (b) in a 5X4-dot. A duplicated inserting matrix calculation circuit 16 calculates the 2nd row as a duplicated inserting row and outputs it. A register control circuit 15 inserts duplicatedly the 2nd row and writes it in a character pattern register 11. The logical content of the register 11 is in the state where the 2nd row is inserted as shown in Fig. (b). Then a mask application discrimination circuit 12 scans the register of the 2nd row, uses an end point of consecutive black dots being a point of a character on a profile line as a noticed dot reads a mask pattern from a mask pattern storage memory 14 and discriminates it whether it is applied or not.
