<p>The handlebars are mounted in a subframe linked to the mainframe by a rear pivot, with the tilting action driving a gear pinion on the crankshaft, via a gear segment. The vertical steering column is linked to the front forks by a folding hinge of rigid struts. The pinion drives the crankshaft via a freewheel coupling and its torque is added to that from the pedals. For training indoors the machine is mounted on a support frame to drive friction rollers.</p> |
