The double walled column has two metal profiles whose thickness is derived from the compression forces applied. The profiles are filled with pre-mixed concrete to provide increased strength. There may be an insulative lining between the profiles. The concrete may be reinforced. - The shuttering may also be formed from wood, metal or plastics to allow casting of the concrete to follow a predetermined profile.
