The invention relates to the field of the cleaning of deep cavities such as tanks in which the walls and/or the bottom may contain various pieces of apparatus, pipework or other objects. According to the invention the cleaning device consists of a compact assembly comprising a system with a sliding telescopic mast 8 capable of adopting a vertical position and guided in translation by a rotary arm 5 mounted on a turret 4 connected to a stationary socket 3 acting as a ballasted support frame. A cradle 12 or various servicing tools are provided at the end of a telescopic arm 10 connected to the pivoting articulation 9 of the mast 8.
