The invention relates to an apparatus for filling in particular cylindrical dispensing containers with a liquid or pasty product. The apparatus comprises a filling station having a filling tube, which through a relative movement in relation to the dispensing container immerses therein, together with an antechamber containing the product and connected to the filling tube. A telescopic tube 8, which is provided in the filling tube 2 and is capable of a reciprocating movement coaxially with the latter, is connected by its upper end 10 to the antechamber 6 and has a plunger which is guided and sealed in relation to the filling tube 8, the telescopic tube at its lower end also being formed so that it can be pushed out through an opening 20 in an annular plate 18, which covers the filling tube end. Also arranged between the plunger 12 and the annular plate 18 is a return spring 24, the spring force of which, allowing for the additional friction forces of the telescopic tube 8, is less than the product filling pressure. By means of this apparatus it is possible to achieve rapid filling directly to the bottom of the container and to avoid air bubbles. <IMAGE>
