The end milling unit is intended for milling an annular groove through the weld in the head of a Borg-Warner (RTM) Y-type valve to permit fitting a graphite oil ring as a nuclear seal. It comprises a shank (9) with a collar portion fitting in the valve body (1) and provided with an axial bore for a spindle, of which the lower end extends into the body and carries a cone (14) below a loose annular cone (11). - The cones are spaced by a compression spring (13) and an expandable slotted clamp bush (12) between the cones centralises the shank when a nut (3) with lock nut (2) at the upper end of the spindle are tightened. A milling tool carrier (6) is height-adjustable on the shank by nuts (5,7) with lock nuts (4,8) arranged on the shank to either side of the carrier. The carrier is rotatable about the shank on a needle bearing. The tool (15,16) is radially adjustable on the carrier. (FL)(1/3)
