PURPOSE:To suppress abrupt variation in the turn-on voltage of a lamp by controlling the turn-on voltage of the lamp through software starting mechanism. CONSTITUTION:The controller for a lamp consists of a power source 1, halogen lamp 2, gate control rectifying circuit 5 for a triac 3, trigger element 6, zero- cross circuit A, detecting circuit B for the lighting operation and effective value of the lamp 2, microcomputer 27, etc. This controller is used to operate an internal timer 28 for the reference of phase control, and a turn-on voltage monitor signal 24 is A/D-converted by a converter 29. Then, the software starting mechanism increase the phase control angle in at least every half cycle of the voltage of the power source at specific intervals successively until the turn-on voltage of the lamp 2 reaches a specific voltage level after the operation starts. |
