摘要 PURPOSE:To activate a fuel cell when angular acceleration and shock are simultaneously given to it by installing over the container a starting device constituted by placing a rotary body to which an igniting agent is attached and a fixed base to which a friction belt is affixed in such a manner that the rotary body and the fixed base face each other. CONSTITUTION:Each flat cell 1 is formed by using calcium as a negative electrode, a potassium chloride-lithium chloride eutectoid as an electrolyte and nickel as a current collector. After a stacked body 2 is formed by stacking flat cells 11 and heating agent layers 12 alternately, the stacked body 2 is installed in a container 15. After that, a starting device 1 consisting of both a rotary body 3 and a fixed plate 6 to which a friction belt 5 is affixed is installed over the stacked body 2, thereby constituting a fuel cell; the rotary body 3 is rotatably supported by a shaft 8 and an igniting agent 4 is attached to a part of the end of the rotary body 3. Owing to the above constitution, shock in the A direction causes the igniting agent 4 and the friction belt 5 to contact with each other and addition of the rotary movement (B) causes friction producing a flame which then catches the heating agent layers 12 through a fuse belt 10 thereby securing th activation of the fuel cell.
