PURPOSE:The titled yarn useful as a binder, etc., causing neither shrinkage nor adhesion in bonding process, comprising an island component of polyester polymer and a sea component of a polyolefin or a polymer consisting essentially of it in a weight ratio of the island component to the sea component in a specific range. CONSTITUTION:(A) A polyester polymer is blended with (B) a polyolefin or a copolymer consisting essentially of an olefin in a weight ratio of the component A to the component B of A/B of (40/60)-(20/80) by chip blending, the blend is melted, spun, wound, drawn by two stages in warm water, to give the desired mixed yarn of sea-island type comprising the component A as an island component and the component B as a sea component. The component A comprising the island component forms preferably 100-600 islands per yarn. USE:Useful as a binder for forming nonwoven fabric, and providing nonwoven fabric having high strength. |
