PURPOSE:To allow lighting at the voltage of 100V or higher consuming the same power as that for a 100V-lamp by making the outer diameter of an outer tube equal to that of a 100V-lamp and enlarging the end section of an inner tube to make its diameter equal to that of a 100V-lamp. CONSTITUTION:A U-shaped inner tube 4, having an inner diameter of 11mm. except for end sections of legs 55 each enclosing an electrode 3, having an axial distance of 18mm. between both legs 55, and forming a bulged section 56 having an inner diameter of 15mm. and a length of about 15mm. at the end section 5 of each leg 55, is housed in a spherical outer tube 1 having an outer diameter D of 95mm. and with its bottom opened at a diameter of 50mm.; and a ceramic stem 2 is assembled to form a compact fluorescent lamp. Accordingly, the outer tube 1 and the stem 2 are common to those for a 100V-lamp, and only the inner tube 4 is changed to increase the tube voltage of the lamp, which can be efficiently lighted at 200V, while maintaining the same power as that for the fluorescent lamp for 100V and consuming a lamp power of 13W. |
