The converter is intended for connecting between the coil and the distributor of a spark ignition engine. It comprises a two-part plastics housing of which one part (RH) contains a metal insert for connecting to the HT lead of the coil whilst the other part (LH) has a (7cm long) lead secured by a self-tapping screw and with a plug at its end for connecting into the distributor top. - The centre contains a plastic frame locating U-shaped metal elements around it with a 2mm space between them. This frame contains two 4mm diameter cylindrical electrodes.
