PURPOSE:To stabilize the flowing of a developer in a developer detection container by specifying the shapes of facing inside side wall surfaces of the container. CONSTITUTION:The detection container consists of both side walls 12a and 12b which have large-curved surfaces having the centers on the same side and, partially, a flat surface in the section perpendicular to a flat detecting element 13. Flow passages of the developer on both sides of the detecting element 13 narrow down gradually toward a flowing-out opening in the same direction, and the developer 5 in the container flows almost in the same direction. Then, the flat element 13 is arragned in the center of the flow passages at an angle Q1 to the perpendicular so that the flow resistance is minimum. The fluidity is more and more excellent as the angle Q2 of inclination to the horizontal line of the curved surface is larger and larger, and its limit is 30 deg.. |
