The present invention relates to a portable boring device for machining existing and worn-out bores, in particular on construction machines and lifting appliances, in which boring device a tool-holding sleeve displaceable in the axial direction, after the boring tool is moved up to the bore to be machined, is clamped by means of an annular-clamping-disc block in a driven hollow spindle for driving by the latter, a longer machining area being made possible without shifting the boring device in the case of several bores lying one behind the other on the same axis.
