PURPOSE:To improve accuracy of a product and make an electrode for electric discharge machining last longer by surely and rapidly holding the electrode at a predetermined position with no sway. CONSTITUTION:In the vicinity of the lower end of a cylindrical body depending from an electrode holder head of an electric discharge machine through a center mechanism, an electrode holder 10 has a notch 4 horizontally extending from the outer surface of the body toward the axis thereof and across the wall of an electrode receiving bore 8. There is provided an arcuate segment 2 having a curved surface for being tightly fitted to the outer surface of an electrode shank 20A exposed through a window 5. When the segment 2 is fitted into the notch 4 until its inner surface comes in contact with the outer surface of the shank 20S, a bolt 3 is screwed into a tapped hole of the segment 2 and tightened against the body 1, thereby to clamp an electrode 20 to the body 1. Thus, this construction improves accuracy of a product and makes the electrode last longer. |
