PURPOSE:To make it possible to miniaturize and thin a clock main body, by such a simple swinging drive mechanism that a second pendulum rod body is swung so as to follow a second pendulum rod body driven by the electromagnetic connection of the drive coil of the clock main body and the drive magnet of the first pendulum rod body. CONSTITUTION:First and second pendulum rod bodies 16, 18 engaged with first and second pendulums 12, 14 having different lengths are fixed to supports 20, 22 at the upper ends thereof and pivotally supported on a knife edge 24 in a freely swingable manner. A drive coil 28 is mounted to a clock main body 10 so as to be opposed to the drive magnet 26 fixed to the pendulum rod body 16 and the pendulum 12 is driven by the electromagnetic connection between both of them. Magnets 30, 32 are fixed to the upper surfaces of the supports 20, 22 in opposed relationship and the pendulum rod body 18 is also cooperated so as to follow the pendulum rod body 16 by magnetic force between both of them. Therefore, because it is unnecessary to provide an apparatus for magnetically connecting the clock main body 10 to the side of the pendulum 14, the main body 10 can be miniaturized and the thickness thereof can be thinned. |
