PURPOSE:To keep off any scratches onto a cutting surface as well as to perform such cutting as being excellent in squareness, by cutting a bar blank in a state of retreating a stopper from its tip end after clamping the bar blank. CONSTITUTION:First of all, clamping of a bar blank A by means of a clamp cylinder 3 and a clamp block 2 is to be completed. Then, a stopper 8 is made to retract from a tip end of the bar blank A, while a counterholder 6 is made to go up by a counterholder cylinder 7 and to support the bar blank A. Afterward, a moving cutter 4 is made to go down by a cutting cylinder 5 and cuts the bar blank in this way. Therefore, there is no contact between the bar blank A and the stopper so that any scratches onto a work's surface by the stopper is prevented, thus cutting efficiency is well improved. |
