PURPOSE:To attain low power consumption by dividing a shift register for scanning signal generating circuit into plural small-scale shift registers and activating only a small-scale shift register to which a scanning signal is transferred. CONSTITUTION:Each of shift registers 10, 11 divided into two consists respectively of four-stage of small-scale shift registers, a final stage output S4 of the register 10 is inputted to the register 11, and the registers 10 and 11 output respectively scanning signals S1-S4 and S5-S8 while being driven by a clock signal. A flip-flop (FF) 20 is set by an input scanning signal S0 and reset by the output S4, and an FF21 is set by the signal S4 and reset by the output S8. Power supply control circuit 30, 31 are controlled respectively by the output signal of the FFs 20, 21 so as to activate the power supply to the registers 10, 11. Thus, the power consumption of the entire circuit is suppressed by controlling the supply of power so as to activate a part of the registers. |
