The diaphragm-type expansion tank, limited by two housing halves (1, 2) welded sealingly to one another, contains a bladder diaphragm (4) having a central suspension region (4.1, 4.2) which is formed by a locally limited vulcanising together of the bladder walls (4', 4''). A perforation limited by a collar zone (4.2) is located in the suspension region. A supporting tube (3) extending through the perforation forms, on the one hand, a reinforcing member between the two main faces of the tank housing (1.2) and, on the other hand, a guide element for the bladder diaphragm (4) which is prevented from collapsing by the supporting tube. In order to ensure a complete removal of water from the bladder diaphragm, that portion of one inner face of the diaphragm located on the connection side is provided with channel-forming ribs (6). <IMAGE>
