Colour-photographic recording material with dye donors which, with metal ions, release chelatable 6-arylazo-2-amino-3-pyridinol dyes, and a dye image with an imagewise distribution of nickel complexes of the dyes

In dye diffusion transfer processes, dyes of the formula I are released imagewise from the corresponding dye donors. With nickel ions, they form light-fast cyan dye-metal complexes having advantageous spectral properties: <IMAGE> in which Q denotes the radical required to complete an optionally substituted phenyl or naphthyl group, X denotes -S- or -SO2- and R<1> denotes an aliphatic, araliphatic or carbocyclically or heterocyclically aromatic radical.
