In a separating and conveying apparatus for strip-shaped workpieces (11) which are accommodated on top of one another in an upright magazine (14), the workpieces (11), separated by a feeding element (15) arranged underneath the magazine (14), are transferred to a transport belt (12) with carriers (13) which is arranged downstream of the feeding element (15), the distance between the carriers (13) corresponding to the subsequent processing state of the workpieces (11). The feeding element (15) is designed as a gearwheel and has on a rotating axle (16), which extends transversely to the direction of transport, toothed discs and/or gearwheels and/or toothed rollers, which with their teeth (15a, 15b) in each case push a strip (11) downwards out of the magazine (14) and transfer the strip (11) to the carrier (13) when the carrier (13) is at an angle of 45 DEG . This feeding element (15) can be vertically lowered from its operating position, in which it removes individual strips (11) from the magazine (14), to a non-operating position, so that the transfer of strips is interrupted. To this end, the feeding element (15) is mounted with its rotating axle (16) on guide bearings (17), which can be vertically pivoted about the shaft (19) of the transport device (12) via adjusting elements, the support crosspiece with extension arms and pressure media cylinders.
