The invention relates to a safety mast foot for windsurfing boards and the like, with a foot body which can be inserted into the mast rail or the mast case of the board, is provided with a head part, which can be put onto the top side of the board, and has devices for locking it against displacement in the longitudinal direction of the mast rail and to prevent the mast from being pulled out of the mast rail. To improve the operating reliability of such windsurfing boards and to simplify handling during operation of the mast foot, it is proposed according to the invention that the one locking device for preventing displacement in the longitudinal direction of the mast rail consist of at least two engageable and disengageable detents which can be actuated by the head part and can be brought into engagement in recesses arranged one behind the other in a row in the longitudinal direction in the mast-rail walls opposite one another, of which detents the one is designed so as to run over the recesses of one mast-rail wall in one longitudinal displacement direction, while the other is designed so as to run over the recesses of the other opposite mast-rail wall in the opposite longitudinal direction, and that the other locking device which prevents the mast from being pulled out of the mast rail consist of a foot body which is slit in its lower area in the longitudinal direction of the mast rail and whose two legs located opposite one another at a distance apart ... a clamping lip at their bottom ends ...
