A floor drain having a housing, a top-attachment element, the tubular lower part of which is received, so as to be rotatable, to be displaceable in a laterally bounded manner, and if appropriate to be vertically adjustable, in a circular introduction opening of the housing formed by an annular wall, and having a grating which is inserted into the insertion opening of a frame, with a square outer contour, constructed at the upper end of the top-attachment element, is described. In said floor drain, the grating can be directly inserted both into the top-attachment element and into the housing since the grating 30 and the insertion opening 24 of the frame 34 are circular and the insertion opening 24 of the frame and the introduction opening 12 of the housing 2 have essentially the same inner diameter and the same insertion depth defined by an inner shoulder 10. In this arrangement, the introduction opening 12 of the housing 2 can also exhibit a square outer contour. <IMAGE>
