Monitoring device for hardware redundancy in control devices for polygraphic machines

These machines are, in particular, web-fed rotary offset presses with computer control. The aim of the invention consists in reducing the incidence of wastage and machine standstill times due to failures of the monitoring device. The object of the invention is to increase the reliability of such monitoring devices. This is achieved by the fact that the redundancy module has allocated to it a control signal device used for forming a control signal and functional control and this device is connected with its output to a release circuit used for releasing the output signal of the redundancy module. The monitoring device provides for a self check of the hardware redundancy. This is done by forced control of the hardware redundancy into the fault state and checking the error signal generated during this state.
