In a device for electrical heating and cooling for plastics injection moulding machines, at least one coolant pipeline and one electrical resistance heater are encapsulated in an essentially tubular, at least two-part carrier made of highly thermally-conductive material, in each carrier part. To simplify the production and to reduce the wall thickness of the carrier, the following features are provided: a. the carrier consists of an annularly closed, metal, prefabricated outer shell (1) and of a metal prefabricated inner shell (2) which is smaller in diameter than the outer shell (1) and disposed within the outer shell (1) coaxially thereto with play, which inner and outer shells jointly form an annular space with annular cross-section, which space is closed at its front side by front walls (6, 7), b. the electrical heating rod (3) and the coolant pipeline (4, 5) are coiled helically with at least approximately the same winding diameter as each other and inserted into the annular space in succession in the axial direction thereof, and c. the remaining interspaces in the annular space are filled with a granular and/or pulverulent, highly thermally-conductive substance (8) which is highly compressed by reducing the covering. <IMAGE>
