PURPOSE:To separate and measure an oil component and a water component, by adhering a system to be measured, in which the oil component and the water component are present in a mixed state, to oil and water absorbable paper, and measuring light transmittance before and after drying and that of untreated paper. CONSTITUTION:A substance having an oil component and a water component contained therein in a mixed state is adhered to an oil and water absorbable test body (e.g., paraffin paper) and the light transmittance I1, I2 thereof before and after drying and the transmittance I0 of untreated test paper are measured. I1- I0 and I2-I0 are proportional to the contents of the water component and the oil component. Therefore, the water component and the oil component are separately measured from a calibration curve. |
