The electrical device for the vaporisation of active substances contained in carrier platelets, especially insecticides, consists of two housing parts (10, 12). It can be inserted directly into a power socket. The upper housing part (12) carries, in a displaceable and pivotable manner, a protective grid (32) which is secured by means of a heating plate (16) fixed in the lower housing part (10), against detachment from the upper housing part (12). When the protective grip (32) is displaced and simultaneously pivoted out of the closed position into the opened position, it impacts against an inserted active substance carrier platelet (46) and ejects the latter. <IMAGE>
