Safety-belt device for motor vehicles, having a shoulder belt (14) which runs obliquely over the upper body and which has at its lower end a buckle part (20) insertable into a lower holder (28) on the vehicle, there being, in order to increase safety, provision for ensuring that a buckle part (20) insertable into an upper holder (28) on the vehicle is also fastened to the upper end of the belt (14). Each of the two holders (28) has a buckle catch (26) which receives the buckle part (20) and which is displaceable counter to the effect of a spring (64) absorbing the pulling forces of the belt (14). Each holder (28) is preferably displaceable and adjustable on a guide axle, rotatable about this guide axle and pivotable about a pivot axle (52) at right angles to the guide axle. <IMAGE>
