PROCESS FOR EXTRACTION OF MONOMER IN PVC SLURRY

Vinyl chloride monomer is PVC resin slurry is removed, in a vessel or tower equipped with a porous plate, by evaporative separation with steam flowing through the pores. The bottom of the porous plate is washed continuously or discretely by a hot water spray. Improved equipment is described in the following figure, where 1 = porous plate; 2 = overflow pipe; 3 = baffles; 4 = slurry; 5 = tower shell; 6 = hot water spray pipe; and 11 = wire.
