The invention relates to a bumper of plastic for automobile bodies for energy absorption on impact loading. The bumper according to the invention consists of a U-shaped cover shell and an energy-absorbing inner part. Cover shell and inner part are integrally blow-moulded as a closed hollow profile. During blow-moulding at least two rows of impressions extending over the length of the bumper and separated from each other by at least one longitudinal web are formed in the rear wall. The impressions are further separated from one another by corresponding transversely extending intermediate webs and in their impression depth span the hollow chamber of the hollow profile in such a manner that the interior surfaces of the impressions are at least partly firmly connected to allocated interior surfaces of the front wall of the hollow profile (Figure 2).
