A joint strip suitable for producing dummy or expansion joints in a screed layer is provided, for accurate and immovable fixing in position, with a base (1) serving for fastening to the ground, and a strip body (2) extending perpendicularly to the base (1). In a further embodiment, the strip body (2) has connecting elements (14) which extend transversely to its longitudinal direction and by means of which the screed areas separated by the joint strip are firmly dowelled to one another. <IMAGE>
