PURPOSE:To obtain decorative plywood excellent in natural taste by a method wherein a synthetic resin sealer layer is provided on the surface of a specific base and embossed and then the embossed cavity is filled with extender contained colored paint, dried and finished. CONSTITUTION:The surface of the base composed of an agathis or other plate surface that is constant in ground color and poor in grain patterns such as conduit holes, pith lines, etc. is sanded to adjust the ground. Then, a synthetic resin sealer layer is provided on the surface adjusted to the ground and embossed to form the desired grain patterns or grain patterns are first formed by embossing and then a synthetic resin sealer layer is provided. Further, the cavity provided by this embossing process is filled and coated with extender contained colored coating material to remove the colored coating material applied to areas excepting the cavity and dried. Thereafter, transparent, finishing coating material is applied to this area to obtain the desired plywood. |
