PURPOSE:To produce a protease economically in an industrial scale, by culturing a microbial strain belonging to Serratia genus and having ampicillin resistance and chloramphenicol sensitivity. CONSTITUTION:Microbial strain belonging to Serratia genus, resistant to cell wall synthesis inhibitor, sensitive to protein synthesis inhibitor, and capable of producing a protease, e.g. Serratia sp MT-5-40 (FERM-P No.7183), is cultured aerobically at 5-8pH and 20-35 deg.C for about 2 days, and the objective protease is collected from the culture liquid. |
