PURPOSE:To provide a wire driving apparatus of a printer free from magnetic interference, reduced in consumption and high in reliability, constituted of a surface wave generating mechanism, a slide blade having a printing wire secured thereto and a pressure contact mechanism for pressing the latter to the former to control the operation of the latter. CONSTITUTION:A surface wave generating mechanism 8 is constituted of a metal elastomer 8a having a surface high in friction coefficient and a piezoelectric element 8b for imparting vibration to said elastomer 8a to generate an elastic wave to the surface thereof. A slide plate 2 having a printing wire 1 secured thereto is pressed to the surface wave generating mechanism 8 by a pressure contact mechanism 9 to control the operation of the slide plate 2. In the pressure contact mechanism 9, for example, piezoelectric elements 9b are adhered to both surfaces of a metal plate 9a to form a bimorph structure and a meterial low in friction coefficient and high in wear resistant property is favorably used in a part 9c contacted with the slide plate 2. |
