A fluorescent lamp, which is compatible with an incandescent lamp, consists of a transparent or semi-transparent outer case (1) covering a lamp (20), a screw part (3) which can be inserted into an incandescent lamp socket and holds a PTC (35) as an ballast, and a cap (15) that holds a starter (31). The PTC has a heat-sink (43) for radiating any overheating to maintain the necessary resistance in case of higher-voltage of the rated power source.
