PURPOSE:To aim at automatically sailing a sailing ship in accordance with data from a ground radio station, by selecting an azimuth angle of possible sailing from arithmetic formulae in accordance with the azimuth, the wind direction and the course data from the ground station so that the course of the ship is corrected, and as well by correcting the course of the ship at predetemined time intervals in accordance with the distance of sailing. CONSTITUTION:A computing device 5 receives signals from sensors 2, 3, 4 for wind directions, azimuth and water stream, as sailing data, and transmits the signals to a ground station from a transmitter 11. The device 5 receives a signal from a course indication device 1 and a course change indication information signal from the ground station through a receiver 6, and selects an optimum azimuth of possible sailing among arithmetic formulae based upon the present wind direction and azimuth singls in accordance with an indication value predetermined by the difference of the change value, in combination of the data, thereby sail and rudder drive devices 8, 9 are controlled. Further, the distance of sailing is computed in accordance with the sailing speed from the water stream sensor 4 and the time from a clock generating device 7 while a deviation between the indication value and the sailing azimuth position is computed, and therefore, the drive devices 8, 9 are controlled in accordance with the computed azimuth correcting value corresponding to the sail and wind directions at predetermined time intervals, thereby the ship is sailed while the azimuth is corrected. |
