The image from a color TV is observed on a screen and the deflector coil is wound toroidally on a permeably magnetic cone which surrounds the beams from the electron guns. External magnetic assemblies allow correction for plume effects. A deflection winding is mounted on an image tube in the neck area. The winding has a permeable magnetic once around which the vertical deviation coils are wound. The horizontal coils are separated by an isolator. Two formers extend the cone and are perpendicular to the beams from a gun assembly. This comprises cathodes and electrodes assembled in the neck of the tube.
