PURPOSE:To increase the sensitivity, to improve the flexibility, and to facilitate the manufacture by incorporating a specified compound as an effective component. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive layer contg. a tolan compound represented by a formula Ar<1>-CidenticalC-Ar<2> (where each of Ar<1> and Ar<2> is a cyclic or heterocyclic aromatic residue) as an effective component is formed on an electrically conductive support. The tolan compound contained in the photosensitive layer 2 together with a sensitizing dye and a binding resin acts as a photoconductive substance, and the generation and transfer of charge carriers necessary for light attenuation are carrid out through the tolan compound. The tolan compound causes hardly absorption in the visible region, so the compound functions effectively as a charge transferring substance when it is used in combination with a charge generating substance 3 absorbing light in the visible region and generating charge carriers. A flexible sensitive body having high sensitivity and giving a clear image can be easily manufactured by using the tolan compound. |
