PURPOSE:To change the unit system within a program with no accumulation of rounding errors by always keeping the coordinates of the final point of a tool designated by a program in the form of the physical unit using the intersecting point between X and Z axes as an original point. CONSTITUTION:Points A-H and A'-H' are drilled automatically by a numerical value controller in order to set an IC having 0.1-inch pitch between pins on a printed board P having the millimeter external measurements. In this case, the millimeter unit is first declared to designate coordinates A (50.0, 100.0) of a point A. Then the unit is changed to inch to perform the increment designation. That is, the difference (0.1-0.0) of coordinates between points A and B is designated. This designation is repeated up to a point H. The difference (0.0, 0.3) is designated between points H and H', and the difference (-0.1, 0.0) is designated between points H' and A'. Thus points A-H and A'-H' are automatically drilled for 16 pins with such programming. |
