PURPOSE:To transport a sheet material intermittently and surely with a simple constitution by providing an upstream-side intermittent feeding means and a downstream-side one to a sheet material transporting device. CONSTITUTION:In an upstream-side intermittent feeding means 14, a lower holding piece 34 of a stationary holding means 26 is located at a nonaction position while a movable holding means 28 is advanced from a retreating position. Accordingly, an upper holding piece 30 and the piece 34 of the means 26 are free from holding a sheet material, but a lower holding means 36 of the means 28 is located at an action position. Accordingly, an upper holding means 32 of the means 28 holds the material in cooperation with the means 36, to advance the material in accordance with the advance of the means 28. The constitution itself of a downstream-side stationary holding means 40 and a downstream-side movable holding means 42 of a downstream-side intermittent feeding means 16, is substantially the same as that of the stationary and movable holding means 26 and 28 of the means 14. |
